Answer:

Hi Bob,

If you sell your truck privately you can transfer the warranty to the next owner, thereby making the vehicle more valuable.

If you are trading it to a dealer however you can't transfer the warranty. In that case go back to where you bought the warranty (dealer or wherever), and apply for a refund of the unused portion of the warranty.

Apply whatever refund you get back towards your down payment, or towards a new extended warranty.
