Question: Do I have three days to take a vehicle back if something is wrong with it?
August 29, 2005
Hello Tony
I purchased my van on Friday without a warranty. Saturday the check-engine light came on.
Is there anything I can do? Someone told me I had 3 business days to take it back if something went wrong. Is this true?

Answer:
Hi Ann,
There is no 3 day rule anywhere that I know of except CA, in which case you have to pay extra, although I'm not familiar with every state's laws.
Chances are that if you signed an "AS IS" form you're out of luck unless the dealer that you bought the van from is an honest person and is willing to help you. It does happen!
Contact them and see what they are willing to do for you. It may turn out that the problem is a very minor one anyway.
All my very best...
