Another One of Those Insulting Emails From a Car Salesman. This Time I'm a "Bottom Fedder!"

Stumbled across your site while searching for something totally unrelated. I have been a sales person, new and used car sales manager, general sales manager and GM of a couple of different dealerships. You are totally blowing out of proportion what goes on to make money ... period.

You are exploiting peoples irrational fears about buying a vehicles to profit and making a lot of good people look bad doing it. Is there the odd sales person that uses unsavory tactics? Yes. However they are a dying breed and most now days are young go getters looking to service their prospects in such a way as to convert them the loyal long term clients.

I hope you fail in this business venture. Only because you are worst than the people you most ironically point the finger at. I am 35 years old and have been extremely successful without any of the BS you speak of. I have a feeling you are an old car guy that couldn't make it using the very tactics you warn people of (because buyers aren't stupid enough to be manipulated the way you suggest). You were likely a bottom feeder then, and I you continue down that path.

David B.

Hi David,

Tell the literally hundreds of people who email me with stories about all the shady tactics they encounter when they go into a car dealership that they're "blowing out of proportion what goes on to make money" - as you say - in a car dealership.

What planet are you living and working on anyway?

Are all car dealers and car sales people crooked jerks? Of course not, and if you actually took some time to read through my website you would see that I write often about that fact.

You have apparently been working in a very sheltered environment during your time in the car business. I can assure you that all the crazy stuff and shady tactics that car dealers pull on customers is very much alive and well in many of today's car dealerships.

And if it makes you feel better to be rude and say stupid, ignorant things about me - when it's very obvious that you really have no clue - then that's fine. I've been called worse by better people than you, but it doesn't change anything. You obviously can't make an intelligent argument without resorting to personal insults - in this case to a person you don't even know.

Read some of the Questions & Answers section and the Dealer Horror Stories section on my website to bring yourself up to speed on some of the outrageous stuff that goes on. These emails I have published on my website are just the tip of the iceberg. I have literally 500 to 600 emails that I have yet to publish. This stuff is real, not made up! There isn't a day that goes by when I don't get several of them from people looking for help.

If you take care of your customers and are honest with them then I tip my hat to you, but please . . . don't pretend like the car business is this perfect little world where the people working in it are made out to be bad guys by a "bottom feeder" as you call me, because that's an insult to all the good people who want to buy a vehicle for a fair price, and get shafted from all sides in a car dealership - which happens everyday . . . at least here on planet Earth!

Open your eyes and grow up David, and stop being such a rude jerk!
By the way David, I appreciate you wishing me "failure!" You sound like such a nice guy!
